Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring – Bach

Learn the Timeless Classic: Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, by J.S.Bach

Like many of classical guitar’s most popular repertoire, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring wasn’t written for guitar.  Nonetheless, today this is one of the most recognized and loved classical guitar pieces.

This piece is a wonderful project for both upper beginner/intermediate players, as well as beginners (a melody-only version is included as a simpler option).

This is the very last piece in the Christopher Parkening Guitar Method Vol 1. (Supplementary Pieces section)
I listen to the accompanying CD all the time, and I always enjoy this one. I think i’m still several months away from starting to learn it though 😉

Who’s transcription do you use in this course?

    • Allen July 23, 2016 at 7:14 am #

Hi Tom, thanks for the question.
This is influenced by a few different arrangements, with my own fingerings, articulations and edits.
